Woman’s Body Found in Ruai Building Collapse
A man said to be the caretaker of the building was rescued and taken to hospital.
The body of an unidentified woman has been recovered from the rubble of a building that collapsed in Nairobi’s Ruai estate on Saturday, officials said on Sunday.
Nairobi police boss Joseph Ole Tito said the search and rescue operation had been completed even as it emerged that two couples who had checked into the ill-fated guest house had left moments before the collapse.

The four-storey building, located on the Eastern Bypass, collapsed on Saturday morning over what the government said was due to shoddy construction methods.
“The building was not built in compliance with the safety rules and regulations,” Housing Principal Secretary Patrick Bucha said.
The guest house had been earmarked for demolition by the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) as it sits on a road reserve.
