UK-based private equity firm Actis has delivered some of the newest offices on Thika Road following the completion of Phase One of its upcoming Garden City Business Park.

The office park, which has been underway since March 2018, consists of two free-standing five-storey buildings providing 12,500 sqm of leasable Grade A office space – with Phase Two expected to provide a further 12,500 sqm of rentable high-end workplaces.

East African Breweries Plc., which early 2018 signed a deal with Actis to take up 7,500 square metres of office space in the first phase of the project, has already moved into the new office park – which is now serving as its new global headquarters.

“(East African Breweries) moved in and officially opened their new headquarters at Garden City Business Park at the end of 2019,” the proprietor said in a statement.

On completion in 2021, the facility will offer 25,000sqm of Grade A offices, a hospital, three-star and four-star business hotels, a pedestrian boulevard linking the business park to the mall, a “village” complex – with 624 Mi Vida middle-class homes and a central park.

The office park comes with some of the best parking ratios in Nairobi, with up to 4 parking spaces available per 1,000 sq ft. It offers a flexible design, dedicated power supply, high-speed lifts, water storage backup, and easy access to Garden City Mall and Residences.

“The GCBP workspace successfully creates distinctive, vibrant and inspiring places in which your staff can interact, entertain and do business,” the proprietor says.

Garden City Business Park borders Thika Road and WillMary estate to its northwest, Garden City Mall to its northeast, and Kenya Breweries to its southeast. It can be accessed via Garden City Boulevard Road and Ngumba Lane off Thika Road.

Equally backed by Actis, Garden City Mall is one of the first developments in East Africa to LEED’s international Gold certification by the Green Building Council for implementing practical solutions for sustainable site development, eco-friendly material selection, water and energy savings and indoor environmental quality.
