Caterpillar Unveils 4-Model Next-Gen Telehandler Series
The four models—TH0642, TH0842, TH1055, and TH1255—replace the TL series.
Caterpillar, the world’s largest construction equipment manufacturer by sales, has launched its new range of next-generation telehandlers at the World of Concrete in Las Vegas.
The four models—TH0642, TH0842, TH1055, and TH1255—will replace the previous TL series, which was first introduced in 2007. Designed with improved performance, safety, and operator comfort in mind, the machines aim to meet the evolving needs of the construction industry.
Kevin Coleman, a senior product consultant for Cat Telehandlers, said, “Our goal with the next-gen Cat Telehandlers is to deliver a safe, reliable, smooth, and comfortable range of machines that are easy to use and maintain.”
These new models are powered by the Cat C3.6TA turbocharged diesel engine, which complies with US EPA Tier 4 Final and EU Stage V emissions standards.
The base model of the new range has a 74-horsepower (55kW) engine that includes a zero-service diesel particulate filter (DPF) and does not require diesel exhaust fluid (DEF).
The TH0842, TH1055, and TH1255 models offer an upgraded 115-horsepower (86kW) engine, incorporating selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technology to meet emissions standards.
Operators can choose from three station configurations: an open canopy, an enclosed cab with heat, or an enclosed cab with both heat and air conditioning.

The new models also feature ergonomic control layouts, a tilt steering column, and a pilot-controlled joystick for multifunction operation.
“The redesigned interior features an ergonomic control layout, standard tilt steering column, and a new full-colour LCD monitor that provides machine information in a choice of four languages – English, French, Spanish, or Portuguese,” said Caterpillar.
Safety has been a key focus, with standard rear-view cameras that activate when reversing or can remain on permanently via the new LCD monitor.
The company added that “Additional standard equipment includes the standard operator presence seat switch to prevent machine operation when the operator is not seated.”
The optional Load Stability Indication (LSI) system offers visual and audible alerts to warn operators about forward machine stability when handling heavy loads.
The new telehandlers also include advanced security features.
The multi-operator system in the LCD monitor allows for security codes for up to 50 operators, protecting against machine theft. Furthermore, the operator-presence seat switch prevents machine operation unless the operator is seated, enhancing safety.
“These next-gen telehandlers deliver exceptional versatility and performance,” Coleman said. “We have made sure that the new models are not only safe and easy to use but also incredibly efficient and environmentally friendly.”
The machines are expected to be available in the second quarter of 2025, with additional certifications from other countries set for 2025 as well.
