Nakuru Solar Project is a 40 MW plant located about 7km from Kampi Ya Moto and around 5 km from Mogotio town along the Nakuru-Sigor road.

The utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) plant sits on 400 acres.

Project details

Nakuru Solar Park, which is being developed in three phases, will be made up of about 150,000 solar panels set on a 400-acre private farm in Mogotio.

The solar farm will be connected to the 33kV Ex-Soilo feeder Line for phase one and 132kV Menengai substation for phases two and three, respectively.

Developers

The Nakuru Solar Park is being built by Astonfield Sosian Energy Ltd, through a special-purpose vehicle company Sosian Solar Power Project Ltd.

The power generated from Nakuru Solar Park is expected to be sold to Kenya Power under a power purchase agreement that is yet to be made public.
